Delivering Therapeutic Support Through Technology

Why Teletherapy?

At Herrera Psychology, we take a dynamic approach to teletherapy by delivering an accessible and collaborative experience for students. We also see this as an additional option for providing therapeutic support to your child in an environment where they feel most comfortable. Teletherapy is an effective way to deliver therapeutic support because it provides easier access to more students and their families, reduced wait times, a more relaxed environment, and flexibility.

What You Can Expect from a Teletherapy Session

With teletherapy, therapeutic services are conducted online

by certified and qualified therapists, psychologists, and social workers.

Teletherapy is a video conference call between you and your therapist. It is designed to provide ease of access from wherever you are on a secure platform.

You can easily access your session through the client portal. If you have forgotten your password, please contact the main office or your therapist and we can send an email to reset your password.

Your therapist will consistently ask for your location at the beginning of every session as an established safety policy.

To create a dynamic session, your therapist may use therapeutic tools such as video, worksheets, or web-based games to support the learning of strategies or emotional regulation.

As with in-person sessions, this is a safe space to speak your mind and vent if necessary. Your therapist will consistently treat you with dignity and respect.

As you participate in more sessions, your therapist will suggest tools or techniques to try outside of the sessions to help you manage day-to-day life and therapy goals.
