Ethan Weiss

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Ethan Weiss specializes in therapy with children, adolescents, and families. Ethan is a practicing therapist at Herrera Psychology after spending four years as the Director of Counseling and Academic Services for grades 6-8 at The Out-of-Door Academy in Sarasota, FL. Ethan also found his way into the classroom, teaching 7th grade English Language Arts. Ethan’s professional experience includes providing home-based therapy for foster families, small teen group facilitation, outpatient therapy at a community mental health clinic, and individual therapy in a private practice setting.

Ethan received his Master’s degree in Child Development from the Erikson Institute of Child Development and his Master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago. He has presented at conferences in Canada and the United States. He has also led training and workshops on a variety of mental health topics—such as the use of mindfulness in developing cultural humility, strategies for responding to child and adolescent trauma with sensitivity and respect, and ways to help students and teachers navigate anxiety in the classroom. Ethan practices from the core belief that co-creating sustainable, meaningful change with kids and adolescents requires healthy, empowering partnerships with the stakeholders in their lives.
