Courtney Lombard

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Courtney is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Registered Play Therapist, and Certified Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. While she enjoys working with clients of all ages, she is especially drawn to and specializes in therapy with children, teens, and families. She has lived and worked as a therapist in various parts of the U.S. and is appreciative of the diverse set of clientele she has had the privilege of working with.

Courtney received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Chicago in 2014 and earned Advanced Certification in Play Therapy from Brooklyn College in 2017. In 2022, Courtney was nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), an evidence-based intervention widely recognized as the gold standard treatment for youth experiencing posttraumatic stress. She has worked as a mental health provider in school-based, medical, outpatient, and residential treatment settings. Courtney is especially passionate about helping clients and their families improve resiliency in response to challenging life experiences.

Courtney utilizes a person-centered, strengths-based approach and employs an eclectic mix of modalities and interventions depending on what the client and family would like to address. She believes that the therapeutic relationship between the client and provider is the strongest contributing factor to positive change, and thus emphasizes a professional yet genuine approach. Courtney views the client and therapist as a team, who together can tackle anything brought to the table.
