Making the Most of the FES-UA Scholarship with Herrera Psychology

Who Can Apply?
This scholarship is for Florida students who:
- Are ages 3 through grade 12
- Have an IEP or a qualifying diagnosis (such as autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, learning differences, or other special needs)
It’s also open to children of active-duty service members who receive PCS orders to Florida.
What Does It Cover?
The FES-UA scholarship provides families with flexible funds—usually around $10,000 per year—to design an education plan that works best for their child. Funds can be used for:
- Therapies: speech, occupational, physical, ABA, counseling, even therapeutic horseback riding
- Education: private school tuition, tutoring, homeschool curriculum, and instructional materials
Support tools: technology, assistive devices, specialized services, and evaluations
How Do Families Apply?
Applying is straightforward:
- Start with one of the two approved scholarship organizations: Step Up For Students or AAA Scholarship Foundation.
- Submit proof of Florida residency, your child’s age, and documentation of the disability or IEP.
- Once approved, you’ll manage funds through a secure online portal and renew the scholarship each year.
