Kristy Bower

 Clinical Social Worker Intern

Kristy has been devoting her professional career to children since 2002. Kristy graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in art education. In her art classroom, art was used as a mode of self-expression, cultural awareness, supporting academic growth, problem solving, building perseverance, and self-care. In 2019 she began working with Forty Carrots Family Center as a Parenting Educator. There she utilized a strengths-based approach to partner with families to strengthen bonds and explore areas of growth. She worked with families during play-based groups, small discussion groups, and one-on-one consultations to recognize their strengths, and facilitate growth of skills to reach personal goals.

Currently, Kristy is earning her Masters in Social Work from the well-regarded School of Social Work at Boston University. She plans to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, providing therapy to families and children, ages 0-18. Kristy holds her certification as a Circle of Security Parenting facilitator. This evidence-based curriculum based on attachment theory filters through Kristy’s work with children and their parents to engage a two-generation approach, and honor that well-being is built on secure connections. Kristy always works to partner with clients by truly listening to their needs through initiating questions, and problem solving in partnership to meet the unique needs of each individual.
